Unity in the Community Charity Basketball Game Set for November 2, 2024, at EE Smith High School
Fayetteville, NC (September 20, 2024) – Excitement is building for the Unity in the Community Charity Basketball Game, taking place on November 2, 2024, from 3 PM to 7 PM at EE Smith High School in Fayetteville. This event promises to be an exhilarating afternoon of basketball, community spirit, and togetherness while raising vital funds to support disadvantaged youth, providing them with access to educational resources, sports programs, and opportunities for personal growth and empowerment.
We are proud to announce that the event will feature attendance from prominent local leaders, including Mayor Mitch Colvin of Fayetteville, Mayor Kia Anthony of Spring Lake, and Mayor Jessie Bellflowers of Hope Mills. These esteemed officials will join forces with other elected representatives and organizations from the greater Fayetteville-Cumberland County area to support this meaningful initiative.
The Unity in the Community Charity Basketball Game aims to foster collaboration among community members, encourage civic engagement, and promote unity across our neighborhoods. Attendees can look forward to thrilling basketball matchups, including pregame scrimmages featuring the EE Smith Varsity boys and girls talented teams and other entertainment throughout the event.
In addition to the exciting charity basketball game, various community organizations will be present to provide information on local initiatives and resources, reinforcing the importance of supporting one another. The event will also offer opportunities for networking and connecting with local leaders, businesses, and residents.

Fayetteville-Cumberland County Parks & Recreation are partnering with US Elite Basketball for this event and other partners and sponsors will be announced in the coming days.

Jerrod Mustaf Inducted into the Hall of Fame

July 8, 2024 (Charlotte, NC). US Elite Basketball would like to congratulate our Executive Director, Jerrod Mustaf on his induction into the 2024 American Basketball Hall of Fame on June 30, 2024.
Other Inductees in the 2024 Class were: Bobby McQuaige, Bob Huggins, Bobby Knight, Brad Sellers, Campy Russell, Carlos Rodgers, Dave Bing, Dru Joyce II, Ed McCluskey, Greg Bell, Andre Rison, Kenny Sailors, Kevin Mackey, Larry Bird, Mateen Cleaves, Phil Chenier, Ray Scott, Rick Mahorn, Semeka Randall-Lay and Jarvis Basnight.
This was the 6th annual American Basketball Hall of Fame Induction class and was held at the Oakland University in Auburn Hills, MI. Congratulations to all the inductees!

Chad Jones Joins US Elite Basketball as National Director of Recruiting
February 1, 2024, (Mitchellville, Maryland) US Elite Basketball is pleased to
announce the addition of Chad Jones to the management staff. Chad will oversee
the US Elite Basketball Recruiting Division, primarily responsible for the
Southeast and Midwest markets. Chad brings a wealth of experience as the
former President of Recruit Nation.
US Elite Basketball is excited to add Chad with his national network with high
schools, AAU teams and college coaches. Chad will begin work immediately on
developing signature US Elite Basketball properties and regional partnerships.
About Chad Jones
Chad Jones, is the CEO and Founder of Global Sports Consulting, a sports marketing firm that
focuses on providing an exposure platform for youth and high school athletes across the
country seeking collegiate scholarship opportunities.
Chad was born and raised in Chicago, Il., where he grew up playing basketball, baseball and
golf. He went to high school in the DMV area and was a three-sport student-athlete.
Upon graduating high school, Chad attended Johnson C. Smith University on a golf

November 6, 2023 (Greenville, South Carolina) US Elite Basketball and The HBCU MLK Unity Invitational 2024 organizers are pleased to announce US Elite Basketball as an official partner of the Inaugural holiday weekend. Aside from an exciting weekend of high level HBCU Men’s and Women’s collegiate games featuring 16 CIAA and SIAC teams, there will be an elite high school game, a Career Expo, Youth and Family Resources Day, Worship Day, Scholarship Gala, and a Coaches and Community Outreach Day led by Jerrod Mustaf (former NBA player). Jerrod Mustaf is a former first-round draft pick of the New York Knicks. In 2014 he was named one of the 100 Most Influential Marylanders in the field of social work after leading the Take Charge Program as the Executive Director as the premier juvenile diversion programs in the country. “FREE” Basketball and Life Skills Camp for Columbus County
March 17, 2023 (Lake Waccamaw, NC) – Former NBA player and Whiteville native Jerrod Mustaf announces his second annual “FREE” Basketball and Life Skills Camp for Columbus County youth ages 8-16. The camp will again be held at Thomas Academy on the beautiful campus of the Boys and Girls Home of North Carolina in Lake Waccamaw from July 10 to July 14, 2023.
Camp Director, Jerrod Mustaf, held his first camp as an NBA player in nearby Whiteville back in 1992 and has directed annual camps and clinics for over 30 years. As one of the first summer camps to feature the primary sport of basketball combined with a full balance of life and survival skills, Mr. Mustaf appreciates the strong partnership with Thomas Academy for the youth of Columbus County.
A talented team of highly credentialed professionals will again facilitate the life skills sessions with special guests daily to emphasize health & wellness, decision-making, financial literacy, and critical thinking skills in a global world with unlimited opportunities.
The free camp, open to the community, will run July 10 – 14 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day. Lunch will be provided. Space is limited and registration is required.
A first round draft pick for the New York Knicks in 1990, Mustaf played with the Knicks and Phoenix Suns before playing professionally in Europe. He is the director of basketball for US Elite Basketball LLC, based in Mitchellville, Maryland. novel basketball podcast, Hometown Legends Podcast Series.
The Hometown Legends Podcast Series will be a medium for former NBA players, college all
stars and neighborhood legends to share their untold stories, promote their personal brands and
be an inspiration for youth, from their respective hometowns and around the country. Aside

2023 HBCU High Senior Showcase
January 12, 2023 (Hampton, Virginia)- Legendary Grassroots basketball coach and AAU executive Boo Williams announces the 2023 HBCU High Senior Showcase coordinated with US Elite Basketball to be held at the Boo Williams Sportsplex in Hampton, Virginia on Sunday, April 23, 2023, from 3pm to 7pm.
This signature HBCU Experience event will allow unsigned high senior boys and girls from the South Atlantic states (Delaware, Maryland, DC, Virginia, West Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia) an opportunity to showcase their basketball talents in front of HBCU (Historically Black Colleges and Universities) coaches, NCAA Division II, III, NAIA, NCAA Junior Colleges, and Post Grad programs. Coaches from the MEAC, CIAA, SWAC, SIAC and other NCAA conferences have committed to use this event as an additional recruiting evaluation tool as they finalize their 2023 recruiting classes.
This event is Co-chaired by Boo Williams and Coach Willie Washington (Athletic Director of Benedict College). The basketball instruction and competitive games will be led by former NBA and college players.

A former basketball star at Hampton’s Phoebus High School and Saint Joseph’s University, Boo has developed the nation’s premier youth organization. Boo is currently the chairman of the AAU Boys and Girls Basketball committees and leader of the Boo Williams Basketball organization. His legacy includes being inducted into the Hampton Roads Hall of Fame and winner of the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame Mannie Jackson- Basketball’s Human Spirit Award.
About Willie Washington
Athletic Director of Benedict College in Columbia, South Carolina. Coach Washington spent twelve years as the Head Men’s Basketball Coach and Athletic Director at Allen University. After building a successful basketball program at Allen University it was time to turn his attention to revamping the Benedict College program.
Under his leadership, the Tigers were the scourge of the EIAC, winning six Commissioner’s Cups, the hallmark of excellence for the school with the best athletic program. Benedict won six out of seven during their stay in the EIAC since the inauguration of the award.
Washington was named the 1999 National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) Southeast Region Athletic Director of the Year by the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics. During his tenure as basketball coach, the Benedict College team never had a losing season. He reached the 200 win-plateau during the 1997-98 season and guided the Tigers to the NAIA national tournament four times during the ’90s. He was named the winner of eight EIAC Coach of the Year awards and was inducted into the EIAC Hall of Fame in 1998. In 2004 in the coaching category, Washington was inducted into the Benedict College Hall of Fame.

BOWIE, MARYLAND, September 20, 2022 — US Elite Basketball announces a Pro Day and Tryout for professional men’s basketball players eighteen (18) years and older to compete for four (4) slots to travel to the Dominican Republic and compete on professional teams in front of Dominican Republic pro league coaches and team owners.
US Elite Basketball staff led by Litterial Green will direct the Pro Day at Fayette County High in order to select a minimum of four (4) American players who are ready for their opportunity to earn a professional contract in the Superior De Higuey League. US Elite Basketball and Coach Charles Chase will pay all expenses for the November 15-21 four (4) game tryout in the Dominican Republic for the selected players. Interested players should have a current passport.
Litterial Green is a former NBA veteran and international all star basketball player. He attended the University of Georgia and remains their all-time scoring and assist leader. Following a stellar professional playing career, Litterial became a well respected professional coach and player development director winning the WBA Coach of the Year.
Coach Charles Chase aka Coach Charlie is a current coach in the Dominican Republic professional basketball leagues. Aside from coaching his respective teams, Coach Charlie believes in providing opportunities to play basketball at a high level and has a well-established pipeline for American players to the Dominican Republic pro leagues. Coach Charlie has placed American players in all of the pro leagues in the Dominican, Mexico and throughout South and Latin America.

The Whiteville native and former NBA star will host a free basketball and life skills camp from June 13-17 at Thomas Academy, on the campus of the Boys and Girls Home of North Carolina in Lake Waccamaw. For Mustaf, a two-time champion while playing in international leagues, giving young men and women skills they can use on and off the court has become his life’s work since retiring from professional basketball.
